Brookwood Companies, Inc. is introducing a new line of Knitted
Fiberglass Sock Fabric (Allesandra) for use with foam mattresses.
The BarrierFlex FR Sock is constructed using a patented dual-core yarn from Allesandra.
It consists of a fiberglass core wrapped with Nylon and Polyester for superior abrasion resistance,
then wrapped again with Basofil and modacrylic for FR performance. The Basofil is inherently nonflammable.
The Modacrylic is a flame retarding fiber that works to snuff out the fire.
Alessandra FR socks have been successfully
tested on foam mattresses to meet 16 CFR 1633 Federal Open Flame Standards.*
The product is available two ways – In easy-to-use sleeves or
in tubular roll form in 32" and 39" widths. Other widths are available.
